Our focus for this terms Green/Blue week is how we can save water as well as practicing other actions that help us to be Kaitiaki (Guardians).

Beary successful day in the Library.

 Delta was surround by her furry friends today. Check out these photos of the bears/animals and their friends. We also had a drawing competition, you had to draw your teddy bear. Helen is making the very tough decisions and we will let the winners know shortly. 

                  

    

 

Bring a bear to our Library on Friday!

 Delta is beary very excited about tomorrow. She is looking forward to seeing other bears and have them visit her Whare. So bring along your bear to our Whare Mātauranga tomorrow and enjoy a good book with a furry friend.

Room 11 Super readers!!!

 These 3 amazing Room 11 super readers regularly visit our Whare Mātauranga at lunch time.

They enjoy reading the Owl Diaries series.

I asked the girls why they like these books and here are their reasons;

• Introduces the characters at the start of the book.
• Uses interesting words like; Owlifornia and fluperrific
• Has chapters that are easy to read.

International Friendship Day

It is a very special day today, a day were we celebrate friendships all over the world. Our Whare pukapuka is a great place to develop friendships, especially during our lunch time activities.

Training day for our new Student Librarians.

Today our Term 3 and 4 Student Librarians had an Orientation and Training day. Miss Mitchell and Helen gave the students an insight into the responsibilities of a Librarian and how our Whare Pukapuka operates. Here are a few photos of our training session.

Te Iwa o Matariki-The nine stars of Matariki

It is that time of the year again where we celebrate Matariki. Our Whare pukapuka has some great books that help us to understand and learn more about the Maori New Year. Matariki is officially celebrated on 13 July 2020.

Last week to issue!

This week (week 11) is the last week that students are allowed to issue books. Starting from Monday 29th of June (Week 12), it is RETURNS week. So please look everywhere for those AWESOME library books and get ready to return them to the library.

 

Level 1- Library life

So now that we are at Level 1, our time in the library is a lot more enjoyable. Since social distancing is no longer necessary, we can now sit down and enjoy construction club with a buddy. Librarians can happily work side by side again.

                      

So please visit us in our Whare pukapuka! It is open every lunch time.

This years theme is: Tapena sou ōso mo lau malaga/Prepare yourself a gift for your travels.

Our faletusi (library) has some great tusi tala (books) for our students to learn about the Samoan language.
