Matariki at our Whare Mātauranga
Throughout this week, Helen has been encouraging our tamariki to create a star or a feather. The stars are for the Matariki display and the feathers are for the Korowai that will be proudly displayed in our Library. Both projects are not yet finished, so I will make another post about these two beautiful projects next week.

Drawing day in the Library.
As a teacher I really love being in the Library when it's drawing day. Our students show great Manaakitanga, Manawanuitanga and Kaitiakitanga when engaging in this activity.
Manaakitanga = They are kind, caring and practice sharing.
Manawanuitanga = They focus and work hard to complete their drawing/masterpiece.
Kaitiakitanga = They use both sides of their paper, put it flat in the recycle box and they tidy up the drawing equipment before leaving.
There is also another reason why I like being present for drawing day................
